Personal Statement

Hi, I am Rhys Jones in the 2029 class. I truly enjoy the game of baseball over all other sports. Currently, I am putting in the work to achieve my goal of a D1 player. As for my game, I enjoy playing first base, pitcher, or outfield, or wherever I can help the team. I am a left-handed pitcher and hitter. I achieved my freshman year goal to make the varsity team starting over 50% of the varsity games. I like to work with honest and upfront coaches who look to improve my game. I want plain consistent to my face criticism so I can work on improving my game for the team. Along with my work ethic and listening to my coaches, I continue my improvement this summer with my exit velo PR 97mph and my FB 85 mph.

  • Fun event, I pitched 3 innings, 6K, and no hits. I hit a showcase PR for my FB - 80 mph, Curve in low 60s, and change up in the 70s. My metrics continue to improve - 60 @7.8 EV@ 82 FB@80 CB@64 OF&IFvelo@78. From August of 2024, my FB has increased from 59 to 80. My exit velo has increased from 65 to 82. All due to the gym and putting in extra work with coaches.
