For most of my life, my mom was an Active Duty Marine. Because of this, I lived in 3 different states and went to 5 different schools from Kindergarten to 8th grade. There were many disadvantages to moving so much but there are many more advantages. Through her service, my mom taught me the meaning of loyalty, hard work and sacrifice. These characteristics are also important on the baseball field. I have had to learn to adapt quickly to new situations.
Always being the new kid, needing to prove myself, I learned to be a good teammate, encouraging others and pushing everyone to be their best because that makes me work harder too.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, my mom became a teacher so Education is always a priority. I want to follow in her footsteps. My goal is to become a Physical Education teacher because I see the value of an active lifestyle and want to help kids understand why being active can improve their life.
Baseball has been the one constant in my life. For as long as I can remember, my bat, ball and glove have been my best friends. It has always been my dream to play ball in college and each year that goes by, I want it even more.
