Hello! My name is Madeleine Keogh, and I am a 2024 from Virginia Beach, Virginia. I go to Cape Henry Collegiate and play for Yellow Jackets South. I am in my third year of playing lacrosse after playing travel soccer, basketball, and swim in previous years. It has quickly become my favorite sport and I have enjoyed my time playing more than any other sport. I have worked very hard, especially during the 2020 offseason, which resulted in my selection for the 2021 Under Armour 150.
Although sports are a huge part of my life, school will always be my biggest priority. I attended a magnet school for middle school and took all advanced classes, including some high school credits. I then earned an academic scholarship to attend Cape Henry Collegiate for high school. I currently have a 4.5 weighted GPA and am taking mostly honors classes. My goal for my career is to go into sports broadcast journalism after attending college and grad school.
Other than working on schoolwork and playing sports, I like to work out, spend time with friends and family, watch a lot of sports (mostly NCAA), enjoy time outdoors, write, and listen to music. I also like to think of myself as a funny person, and hopefully others would say the same. I would say I am a generally outgoing person and enjoy meeting and talking to new people.
Coaches describe me as hardworking, a good listener, a supportive teammate and very coachable. I am just wrapping up my first season playing field hockey for my school, and I didn't get to play much, but I enjoyed leading the bench, setting a good example by working hard in practice, and supporting the starters as much as I could. I believe playing lacrosse in college would be perfect for me. I love sports of all kind, and I love being part of a team. I want to stay as active as possible, as it is important for my overall wellbeing. I am a very committed person and like to keep myself busy, as it keeps me organized and motivated and helps me be successful in the classroom.
I have a lot to offer a team, from my talents to my teamwork and encouragement, and I look forward to doing so in college.
