~~My name is Ryan Long. I am a young Sophomore (I just turned 15) at an academically rigorous college prep private high school (The Overlake School, in Redmond Wa). In addition to Baseball, I am also heavily involved in Drama and Choir and am thinking about pursuing a degree in Political Science and then Law. I have a GPA of 3.7 and expect to work hard to maintain this through high school. I will graduate in 2017.
I am currently 15 years old and am over 6’4” tall. I have been told by my doctor I can expect to reach 6’6” to 6’9” in the next couple of years.
I have been playing baseball since I was 8 years old and have been training at top facilities since I was 10. This year I have been told I can expect to play Varsity Baseball for my high school and to play 15U select baseball in the Seattle Elite League for Ray Atkinson and the NW Bandits. Last year I was the main starting pitcher for my select team and my JV High School Team. I was often brought in at semi championship and championship games during tournaments and league play and often pitched 100 pitches throughout the seven innings I was in. At one of the facilities I train at, my fast ball was clocked at 82 mph and my crow hop at 87 mph. When not pitching, I was still always playing. I played 3rd base, 1st base, and outfield. I hit around .400 in our 70 game season and had many doubles and triples.
I am very interested in attending a top college or university. It has been my dream to go a top college and to play baseball there.
Sincerely,
Ryan J. Long
