Personal Statement
I’ve been a competitor my entire life—athletically and academically. Nothing has come easy to me and because of that, I know what it takes to win and succeed. As sweet as my victories have been, it’s my losses that I’ve learned the most from. When I was in middle school, I struggled to keep up with the demands of being on two cheer teams and the added difficulty of school. I let my grades slip and my mom forced me to sit out an entire year of cheer in order for me to reset my priorities. It broke my heart but I learned how to minimize distractions and I came back more determined than ever to succeed in my schoolwork and cheer. Since then I’ve maintained a B average in school and won multiple national titles including Cheersport and NCA. I’m looking forward to a new chapter in my academic and athletic career, bringing my dedication and to a new team.
