Hello, my name is Libby Vanessa Hiatt and I want to cheer for your school. I was lucky enough to find a bright spot in my life at the age of 8 when I started All Star Cheer. I stayed with All Star Cheer until I was age 15, competing in levels 2 through 6 with multiple visits to Summit and Worlds. Currently I am in my 3rd year of Varsity Cheer at Payson High School. My 8-year-old self didn't know it at the time, but cheerleading would change my life in so many ways. It is my strength in times of weakness. It is my home away from home. The teams have become like family and my coaches have grown into lifelong friends and mentors. It has shaped me and built me into the best version of myself.
Cheerleading has become my safe place. It has given me a platform to serve. Marie Osmond once said, "Being of service to others is what brings true happiness." I serve my teammates and coaches by putting in the work. I serve the athletes by cheering them on and building their confidence. I serve the crowd by putting on a show and inviting them to participate and generate enthusiasm. Most importantly, we as a cheer squad serve our school by supporting and encouraging our fellow students.
My desire is to continue embracing this love of mine, while earning a degree in Elementary Education. In doing so I hope to continue spreading joy to all those around me. While helping my future students find their own bright spot and have their chance to shine. I would be honored to be a bright spot at your school.
Thank You,
Libby Vanessa Hiatt
