My name is Julia Carter, and I am a member of the graduating class of 2024. From a young age, I explored a wide variety of sports. As I grew older and sports became increasingly serious, I had to make a choice and fully commit to my favorite sport. Among many, gymnastics ultimately captured my heart. Throughout elementary and middle school, I dedicated up to 20 hours per week to practice sessions.
However, when high school began, I made the difficult decision to step away from gymnastics in order to fully experience all that high school had to offer. Encouraged by friends on the cheerleading team, I decided to try out for my sophomore year. Cheerleading had always intrigued me, and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to give it a shot. I was extremely excited to find I had made the varsity team. I discovered my love for cheer and realized I wanted to pursue it further.
Currently, I proudly represent Enumclaw High School as a member of both the Varsity cheer and gymnastics teams. I have been awarded with the Scholar-Athlete Award, Most Valuable Player, and membership in the National Honor Society. As a student-athlete, I pride myself on my dedication and persistence.
What sets me apart from others is my relatively short three-year experience in cheerleading. Nevertheless, my background in gymnastics has proved invaluable, allowing me to quickly learn the ins and outs of cheerleading. I am a quick learner and am always willing to try new things. Being a competitive athlete has been the defining aspect of my life. I enjoy setting ambitious goals, working hard to achieve them, and creating long-lasting memories and relationships throughout the process.
