My name is Tyler Wagner. I am currently a senior at Webster Area High School in Webster, South Dakota. Besides on the field, I also strive for excellence in the classroom. Throughout my high school career, I have accumulated a 4.063 GPA and am number 1 in my class of 39. I have taken my ACT once and received a score of 29. My extracurricular activities include National Honor Society, FFA, FCCLA, and SADD. I am also the student body president of my high school. I participate in wrestling and track, as well as football. I am a two-time varsity letter winner in track and a five-time varsity letter winner in wrestling. I placed 8th at the state wrestling tournament my 8th grade and sophomore years and 7th my junior year. In football, I have earned a varsity letter every year. I started three games between my freshman and sophomore years. I became a full time starter last year, leading the team in tackles, interceptions, and forced fumbles. At the end of the season, I earned All-Conference honors and was voted Most Valuable Defensive Back. I was voted team captain this season and helped my team to our third straight playoff birth. At the end of this year I earned All-Conference and All-State Honors as well Academic All-State. I was one of 36 players named to the Aberdeen American News All-Area team. I was also voted Defensive MVP and Overall MVP by my teammates. I'm looking to play football at the highest level I possibly can while at the same time getting a good education. I am currently undecided as far as what major I want to pursue but some of my possible interests include something in the medical field, athletic training, teaching/coaching, and agriculture. I believe I can contribute to any team with a positive attitude and a good work ethic which has been instilled in me by my father and many years of sports, mainly wrestling and football. I love the sport of football; I have a great drive and passion for the game and want to continue to play as long as I can.
