Personal Statement
I started playing baseball, basketball and football when I was six years old. A few years later, I realized that basketball had stolen my heart and playing basketball at a collegiate level became a resounding ambition.
I have natural athletic ability, a high basketball IQ, strong defensive skills, exhibit unlimited range from the floor and run the floor well. I am very coachable and endeavor to be one of the hardest working players for any team I am a part of. I am a tenacious team leader who has learned to work through the grind and I strive to lead by example while encouraging my teammates. In addition to my summer training and basketball schedule, I volunteer at youth basketball camps.
I envision my college years to be a period of continued personal growth and development on the basketball court as well as off. I have learned the importance of time management and dedication to my goals in order to be a well-rounded candidate for prospective colleges. My goal academically is to explore a business major that will lay the foundation for my future career. On the court, I plan to be a positive influence on my teammates and a significant contributor to the team’s successes and accomplishments. I was raised to be respectful; in college, I will continue to conduct myself with honor and respect both on and off the court. I recognize that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend.
I am open to all options and am ultimately looking to find a college that is the right fit at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to my peers in college and to the future student athletes of my high school. Last but not least, I hope to make my parents and siblings proud.
