Basketball has been my passion ever since I was 3 years old. I love the game, the teamwork, the competition, and the challenge. Playing basketball has taught me so many life lessons off the court as well, for example, having to communicate effectively with others, holding and being held accountable, being able to move on from past mistakes, and so much more. And all of those things are some of the few reasons why I have success off the court and in the classroom. I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my entire middle school years. I was the #1 top speaker in my speech and debate program for my school. The skills learned in basketball enhances my already success in the classroom. Whether it’s communicating to my teacher, during group projects, or just to my peers, it has helped me become a clear and concise communicator. Basketball has helped push me in every aspect of my life. It has helped me grow as a person and even more as a leader. That is why I am eager to play basketball at the college level and pursue my academic and athletic goals.
