Frank Brown '21 Recruiting Profile

I was introduced to basketball while watching a Cleveland Cavaliers game with my father at age 6.  I become intrigued with the game of basketball and told my mom I want to play.   After joining a league, I continued to play all the time.  I've played from recreation ball from elementary school to captain of my middle school team to Varsity of Colgan High School.  I moved to Virginia prior to my sophomore year from DC after my uncle convinced me to do so.   My intent was to move to an environment more conducive for my personal, academic and athletic aspirations with a support that would be there for me at all times.

Two things that I’ve learned about myself through playing basketball are toughness and tenacity.  Growing up in Washington DC left me no choice but to identify with the streets  which gave me a “city mentality”.   That mentality drives my passion for the game and my passion for my family.  The physicality and grind are my favorite things about basketball, in life I apply the same mentality.  To grind through everything, leaving no obstacles unturned...yet I strive to always remain unselfish, good sportsmanlike, and versatile.
