Dear College Coaches,
Joshua Galindo, 2023 Golfer,
I am committed to playing golf in college and put all my efforts towards that goal. I have played in as many tournaments as possible since then and got my first win this September. I have been practicing and playing for 5 years and have moved my handicap down to a +1.6. I have moved my tournament scores down and continually work on my mental and physical game. My tournament scoring average is 74 (down from last year's 78.5). I know that my best golf is still in front of me and I will continue to push to play in college. The ability to put a tough first day or tough hole behind me and come back is what I think makes the difference in those who do well in golf and those who do not. Golf is a tough sport, it is physically and mentally demanding. This is what drives me, testing my mental strength in competitions and my physical stamina over multiday events. 5 years ago, I decided I wanted to play golf in college and I have not looked back. I focus everyday on what I can improve in my physical golf game and my mental game. Golf is a grind that I love, it forces me to be honest and evaluate my strengths and weaknesses, demanding improvement. It is this work ethic and personal standards that I can bring to a competitive college golf team. Thank you for considering me.
