August 2019
March 2019My name is Cooper Hicks and I am a 5'9" 185 lb Senior (2020) from Prosper, Texas. I play golf for Prosper High School, and, after trying several other sports, have been playing golf for 6 years now. During my time with the team, we have won 2 district championships, and sent individuals on to the Regional and State tournaments. As a sophomore, I was named to the all-district team.
I became interested in the sport watching Jordan Spieth and Tiger Woods. My dad played frequently with his friends, and he took me every now and then, to try hitting the golf ball. I went to a camp during 6th grade and I've been playing ever since. I may have started later than most kids I play against, but I have surpassed most of them. Golf has taught me that hard work pays off.
Golf has made me a more patient person, and has also given me the opportunity to play in high school, and hopefully in college. My academic goals for high school, as I finish, is to finish with a 3.75 GPA and to be in the top 25%. My academic goals in college, are to study sports management or computer science, and make sure I maintain an A in all of my classes. Personally, I am a very loyal person that is always looking to help others. I am currently in a service group called Hope Squad that works with troubled teens and I used to be a member of the Young Men's Service League where we had to get over 20 hours of community service each year. I am a kind young man who looks out for everyone that is in need of help. I am certain these qualities will make me a good college player and teammate.
