Hi Coaches,
My name is Anthony DeLuca, and I am a 17-year-old senior at Andover High School with a deep passion for hockey. Hockey is such a big part of my life, it has shaped who I am, my character, and my future goals. The camaraderie, discipline, perseverance, and work ethic I have learned through the years of playing hockey at a high level are irreplaceable. My ultimate goal is to play high-level college hockey, but the path to reaching that dream is not clear at this time. So, for the time being, I will keep my options open for an opportunity that will help me develop both as a student and an athlete.
As a player, I like to think I can make impact on any team on and off the ice. I lead by example and have learned how a leader acts in certain situations. I am a positive influence and good role model and teammate. On the ice, I take pride in winning faceoffs and being a responsible two-way player with good body and stick position. Offensively, I have patience with the puck, distribute it well and often. I also contribute on the scoreboard with my quick accurate shot being one of my strengths which has helped me be the points leader on my team for the last two years.
One possible path I am considering is attending a prep school for a postgraduate year. I would like the opportunity to focus on improving my grades, further developing my skills on the ice, and gaining exposure to college scouts and recruiters. I think that path would prepare me for collegiate-level hockey while helping me get academically stronger. I am also considering playing junior hockey for a program that would help me become a stronger hockey player as well as guide me through the path to college hockey.
Either way I am committed to the process and I understand not all of it will be perfect but I’m excited about new opportunities and I hope to make the best of them. I am grateful for the support of my family, coaches and hockey family throughout this journey.
Thank you for your consideration.
