My name is Jack Fitzgerald and I would like to make a statement about myself. First of all let's start with where I am currently. I currently am from a small town in New Jersey and play ice hockey for a club team and a high school hockey team, along with playing baseball in the spring. While playing a sport almost every month of the year I have maintained a 3.5 GPA throughout my first two years of high school, along with receiving a 1050 on the PSAT. I've been playing hockey for six years now, and will be playing on my second consecutive double-A team this fall. I have also received varsity credit two years in a row at the high school, and in the most recent season being the starting goaltender.
My freshman year I played on the Palisades Predators A TB team, which is the highest level of play in the Hudson valley hockey league. As a second year bantam team, we played a lot of single- A teams, along with playing a lot of double-A bantam teams. On this team I was clearly the number one goaltender, as I started every playoff game for the league and the state tournament. Our team ended up losing in the New York State semi finals, but did win our league. My freshman year I as well played high school hockey, as a back up. This did not stop me from playing a significant amount, for I did revive about six or seven starts. My sophomore year I played on a double- A team on the North Jersey Avalanche. The team struggled, as I saw around 30-35 shots each game, and split time evenly with the other goaltender. In the high school season during my sophomore year the team was not very good, for I saw forty shots in a lot of games and was able to end the season making 696 saves throughout starting every game throughout the season. The highest amount of shots that I saw in a game was fifty three, making forty four saves.
My goals in college are to come out with a degree and become suscessful in life and help support a family. While in college I would definitely like to continue my passion of playing hockey. Unlike some people, my attitude never has a problem. If coach tells me to do something, it is done without thought, or a bad attitude. This also leads into the fact that I am a hard worker. I always give it my 110% effort at practice, games, and off ice activities.
I am very open to numerous things involving the recruiting process. I am fully open to playing at all levels of play in college ice hockey. Whether it is division 1, 3, or club, my attitude toward the sport will never change. I am also very open to many schools around the country. I may have my preferences as to where I would like to go, but I will always consider any school that is looking at me. I will not be extremely selective as to where I will go, but rather extremely open to all sorts of schools.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope that I am the right fit goaltender for you.
