Lacrosse has had a huge impact on my life and ultimately shaped who I am. My lacrosse team is everything – it is like a family: It has built my self-confidence, taught me to set goals and to be a fighter, to persevere and go beyond my best effort and to work for a common goal. The relationships I have with my teammates, I will have for the rest of my life. My coaches have had a great influence on me both athletically and personally. I know my coaches have a genuine interest in my success; they have been honest and supportive and have pushed me to be the best I can be.
Becoming a collegiate lacrosse player would be an answer to my dreams. I know that being a collegiate athlete presents challenges that will help make me successful in the future. I also know that it won’t be easy – balancing school and sports in college will be difficult but I am up to the challenge. I look forward to playing lacrosse at the collegiate level and growing my skills with my team and new coaches. Lacrosse has taught me to face adversity and meet challenges head on. It has also taught me to accept defeat, learn from it and take responsibility for personal performance. I hope that I can bring the skills I have learned to a collegiate team.
