I am a varsity crew member with Sarasota Crew. I not only bowed our men's junior quad to a first place victory at Sculling States, but also stroked our u17 eight to a first place win at Southeast Youth Regionals and fourth at Youth Nationals. In addition, I rowed on starboard for our men's second varsity eight where we placed second at regionals.
As a student, I attend Pineview High school, the #1 high school in Florida. I endure a rigorous course load, some of which include AP classes such as Biology, Physics, and Seminar while still maintaining a GPA above 4.0. I continually strive to challenge myself academically to be ready for the next chapter of my journey in college.
Rowing teaches me the hard work I need to endure life. I learn time management by balancing a 6-day practice week of three-hour practices and carrying a rigorous workload while contributing to my family at home. I know the importance of community, as my teammates and I continually push each other to become superior athletes to win a race. I am challenging myself to become a great leader by continually implementing feedback from my coaches and parents to become the best version of myself.
This upcoming season, I plan to improve my erg time to below 6:30. Additionally, I am working hard to improve my singles skills to secure a seat in the 1V to participate in the Head of the Charles. I plan to continue with a 4.0 gpa for the upcoming academic year. My ultimate goal is to secure a seat at a top notch rowing program and attend a high level university.
