The beauty I find in rowing is that it is both a team and an individual sport. Ever since Year 7 when I first started rowing, to Year 12 in my senior year, the experience that rowing has provided me has been unlike any other. To encapsulate this experience would be impossible, but what I find most rewarding was at the end of the race, whether it be a good or bad placement, the post adrenaline, the hard-work and the resilience that was invested into the race would be so fulfilling.
Although having a numerous amount of quality placings over the years, it wasn't until I placed 3rd at one of the most prestigious high school regatta, the AAGPS Head of the River, that I realized how the sport of rowing has ultimately changed me as a person. The sheer passion and persistence were like nothing I had ever experienced before.
The invaluable takeaway that rowing has imparted in me and what I can truly say has influenced me and how I play the sport, is that heart can take you a long way. I can full-heartedly say that I put 1000% in everything I do, game day or not, and I will provide you with the heart and the essential characteristics required to make an immediate influence on your college program. I can assure you that I am a hard worker that's persistent, resilient and passionate in everything I do and an athlete that can provide you with the heart to achieve your college's goals. Ultimately I am looking for a college that will fit me both academically and athletically.
