I am currently a senior at Broad Run High School located in Ashburn, Virginia. I'm very passionate about rowing; I started rowing for a club team called Miles Makes Champions during the fall season my freshman year and got hooked almost instantly. After MMC ended, I wanted to continue rowing; so, along with other families from MMC at Broad Run, we started our own team. Since my freshman year, I have learned a lot from rowing on several different teams. I have had the opportunity to go to rowing camps at Princeton and the US Naval Academy. In addition to my role as a rower, during the summer I coach Brigantine Rowing's Adaptive program, where volunteers such as myself spend time mostly one-on-one with people who have a variety of disabilities which has really been a great experience over the past two years. On top of the Adaptive program, I started helping to coach their youth program. I also attend regular morning practices during the summers, whether that's in a boat in the bay or in the erg room. Apart from rowing over the summer and during the spring season I row during the fall and condition throughout the winter months. In terms of my role in the boat, I row both port, starboard and over the past two years I've also been practicing sculling, how to scull in Brigantine, New Jersey and now Resilient Rowing (current fall program).
