Hey! My name is Hunter Knull, and I am a Junior at Maggie L. Walker Governor's School, an academic magnet school in Richmond, Virginia. I came across crew due to my parents and friends, and started in the odd season that was covid. I realized after my fourth week of rowing that I had fallen in love with the drive that it required, even when my hands looked like they had gone through the broad size of a cheese grater. Crew attracted me for the team, and I stayed for the grind. Previously, I had played travel soccer at the highest level for around 8 years, but Crew has found a place in my heart rivaled only to that of ab workouts in the gym, and yes, you might be wondering, am I crazy... yes. To conclude, I fell in love with the sport because it makes me push harder than I ever thought possible, feathering my oar, coming up the slide, squaring up, and dropping my oar into the water to push with everything in me. This past fall season, I seat raced into the varsity boats; in the Spring, I plan to row 3 in the Varsity four, and stroke the Varsity pair, which we hope to take quite a distance in terms of competitions.
