Personal Statement
I started playing soccer at age four and learned to love the game. As the competition has gotten tougher over the years, it has only increased my desire to continue playing the game at the highest level possible. I would like to play soccer for a college team because it would help me to achieve my goal of going to college and playing soccer against the best college soccer teams. I am a dominant left footed player and have most recently played the left back and left forward positions on my club and Olympic Development Program (ODP) teams. I am a very versatile player and can also play in the midfield, forward and outside back positions. In addition to soccer, I have benefited from playing many different sports over the years such as basketball, football and baseball. Since the 7th grade, I have been on high school JV and varsity wrestling teams and have found wrestling is a great compliment to soccer because it helps with my strength, agility, balance and endurance. Most importantly, by playing soccer and wrestling, I have embraced qualities that are important both on and off the field, like being a good teammate, being responsible, having patience and having a good work ethic. Finally, as the son of a military service member who has moved many times over the years, I am used to adapting to different styles of coaching, different styles of play and different personalities on a team. I know I can make an immediate positive impact on any college soccer team.
