I began playing softball when I was 7 years old and fell in love with it immediately. I have met my best friends through the sport. My coaches have influenced me with their dedication, perseverance, and work ethic. I have faced adversity head on when not being selected for my high school team my Sophomore year of high school. It has been very trying and frustrating, but has also caused me to work even harder to achieve my goal of playing in college.
My hitting coach, Roy Foreman (from AAMU), has been a major influence on me. I got into a long and painful hitting slump that destroyed my confidence and my mechanics. He worked very patiently with me to not only correct and improve my swing, but also to re-build my confidence. He has told me that I am his most improved student ever. Now when I show him videos of my big hits, he sits back, smiles and tells me how proud he is of me.
In the down time of my high school career, I signed on to be a football manager. Working with the team, coaches and trainers has helped me to realize that I would like to study performance nutrition or be a team dietician, to continue to be involved in sports and have a job that I enjoy. I really love being part of the team atmosphere and helping out wherever I can. I am a very hard worker and I believe all of my coaches, including the football coaches, would vouch for that as one of my attributes.
I am very committed to making the best grades that I can and earning an academic scholarship to attend college. I would love to play softball for you and show you what a hard worker and great teammate that I am!
