- 2022 Highlights
Personal Statement
Hello. My name is Jake Schultz and I am from Williamstown, Kentucky. Currently, I am a Junior at Grant County High School and have earned a 3.5 grade point average during my first 2 years. My goal is to attend a college or university with high academic and athletic standards in order to obtain my undergraduate degree and continue my development as a soccer player.
Some important aspects of my game are my vision, speed, strength and stamina. I set and still hold the Grant County High School varsity soccer records in the pacer test, the 1-mile run, and the 2-mile run. In addition to this, I am already in the top 10 of the Grant County High School soccer program record books for both goals scored and assists. This past season I led my team in both goals scored and assists and was selected to the Kentucky All Region Team - 8th Region. Academically, I am also a two time Kentucky State Athletic Association Academic All State Team selection.
Soccer is a part of every aspect of my life. I have been very fortunate to leverage soccer to give back to my local community. I have been a referee for U4 - U14 Grant County Youth League. Additionally, I have participated in our local Special Olympics soccer program, and I have joined multiple community service projects, such as road side clean up, with my teammates.
Academically, I am interested in psychology, finance, and business, but have not yet chosen a major. I am looking for a college with high academic standards to prepare me for my post-soccer career.
Overall, I want to be challenged academically and athletically. I am looking for the right opportunity to excel both on and off the field. One key thing to remember is that I have only played one year full year of club soccer. My growth and potential is much higher than most recruits because of this. All my coaches and teams I play against have repeatedly talked about the huge upside I have in my development. Recently the comments have started turning from "raw talent" to "nice skill set" and questions about if I have any college offers yet.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know more about me.
