Liam Mowbray '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Liam Mowbray. I am currently a student at Allegany High School, Cumberland, MD in my junior year. My main goal after high school is to play at the top collegiate level and become an outstanding player and teammate. I want to help develop myself as a player and win big trophies. I am a central attacking midfielder with the capabilities to help create goal-scoring opportunities with goals and assists. I am confident on the ball and can consistently beat defenders in 1 v 1 situations. My positive leadership, work ethic, drive, and commitment help me stand out from other recruits in character traits. I always strive to help my teammates around me and I am eager to win. I have been playing regionally at the top level through my club team, AVID Soccer Cub, for the past eight years. I am a starting player for my high school team and proud that we’ve been state semi-finalists two years in a row.

In the classroom, I am a very dedicated student, who always shows up to class, asks questions, and turns my work in on time. I always strive to be a good example in the classroom to help set the standard for my peers. Academically I have focused on building my class schedule with honor and advanced placement classes. When the curriculum gets challenging to me I work with my teachers and peers for extra study-groups to help me master the lesson.

Outside of soccer, I am a 2-degree blackbelt in karate.  I have been doing karate for over 13 years and it has taught me great discipline, respect, and drive that I have blended with my mindset on and off the field. I have also been a member of our studios performance demonstration team and have served as a team co-captain for two seasons. Being a blackbelt and demo team captain has allowed me to grow and develop outstanding leadership skills.
