Zane Smith '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Zane Smith. I’m now  a senior at Allegany High School, Cumberland MD.  I throw shotput and discus for the track team. I found a love for throwing around freshmen year, my dad threw when he was in high school so I couldn’t wait to try it out. But because of the 2020 Covid pandemic my freshmen season was cut before it started. So I had a year to get stronger and throw farther, which helped a lot. As a sophomore I went to States for shotput and placed 8th. But after a long offseason of training, as a Junior I placed 3rd. And right now I’m seeking for a state championship.  I feel like I work very hard to perfect my practice. I’m usually the first person in last person out of the circle or weight room.  I love sport and study the collegiate athletes. Im also very friendly person but love to compete.
