As a student athlete, my number one goal is to earn my bachelors degree while continuing to play soccer in college. I love playing soccer and cannot think of a bigger privilege than to continue playing while pursuing my academic goals. I am a hard worker in both the classroom and on the field, who strives for excellence and never gives up until I attain my goals. I am a player who communicates with my teammates, encouraging them when they are down and praising them when they excel.
I am from a military family that moves often. This experience has taught me to be flexible, adaptable and resilient. It has also taught me the importance of personal discipline, self-improvement, and to show respect for coaches, teachers and teammates. I work hard in school, striving to do my best on all tests, quizzes and assignments. When I do fall short, I pick myself up, dust myself off, and then look for ways to learn from my failures and improve. This attitude allowed me to adapt quickly when my family moved or when my father deployed. It has also resulted in classroom success (National Honor Society in Texas, 3.47 GPA freshman, and a current 4.0 GPA as a sophomore) and athletic success (Tae Kwon Do black belt at age 10 and selection to soccer travel/clubs after only playing a few years). My work ethic, resilience, and attitude will ensure success as a college student and as a leader on the collegiate soccer field.
