When my brother decided that he was going to try the sport of swimming eleven years ago, I figured it wouldn‘t hurt to try it out myself. I didn‘t know much about the sport, but it didn’t take me long to understand that this sport requires time, dedication, and a lot of hard work. Over the years as my love for the sport grew and the competition around me got faster, I started giving the sport as much effort as I had to give, and all time it needed. With the help of the great coaches that I have had over my career, I can confidently say that as I grew stronger with age I also became smarter not only understanding the ”how to” of the sport but also the “why this helps” . They have helped mold me into a leader among the team. Swimming has not only helped to train my body and my mind but it has also given me the opportunity of being apart of such a unique community of people that I can gladly call some of my closest friends. This sport has also given me so many challenges and life experiences that will help me in everyday life. What started for me as an after school hobby has turned into something that I absolutely love doing. I have spent a lot of time thinking, and I can clearly see God pointing down the path of me being a college swimmer to grow, develop even further, and to met new friends and people.
