My name is Jared Tennenbaum and I am a senior attending Basalt High School in Colorado. I began running track in 8th grade and I also have played basketball for 9 years. I’ve also played soccer and football and ran cross country for the first time at the start of my junior year. I started track because I wanted to learn how to become a better athlete and runner. Through all of my years in track, I’ve enjoyed learning the skills of running mid distance and especially love competing in hurdles. I gained great interest in it after realizing that hurdles are one of my strengths. I desire to compete at the college level and understand that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. During my junior year, at the state track meet I tripped over the first hurdle in my 300 race and broke both bones in my forearm, and had a compound fracture of both bones. I can’t wait to get back out on the track for my last year in high school.
