James Talbot '25 Recruiting Profile

As a senior at Rangely Junior/Senior High School in Colorado, I’ve consistently balanced high-level academics with my passion for cross country and track. I hold a 4.05 GPA and have challenged myself in courses like Calculus, College Algebra, and English Composition. Beyond the classroom, I’ve immersed myself in extracurriculars such as FBLA, Drama, church youth activities, and even serve as a youth representative for our local Main Street USA program. My curiosity for technology has also led me to become a licensed FAA drone operator, reflecting my ongoing commitment to both academic and personal growth.

On the track and cross country course, I’ve pushed myself to achieve new milestones. My personal records include a 2:01.14 in the 800m, 4:24.73 in the 1600m, and 9:51.69 in the 3200m. I’m especially proud of finishing 10th at the 2025 Cross Country State Championship and earning a 1600m State Championship title in 2024. These experiences have deepened my determination to compete at the highest levels in college.

Having been admitted to several universities, I’m looking forward to exploring programs that will challenge me both academically and athletically. My ultimate goal is to become a well-rounded student-athlete, pushing myself in the classroom while continuing to train and compete in cross country and track. I believe that my dedication, work ethic, and passion for learning will make me a valuable addition to any collegiate team and campus community.
