Hello, thank you for reading this. I ran cross-country in my freshman year because I wanted to challenge myself in a school that has a very strong cross-country team. After winning my JV race at the Bowdoin Park Invitational, I worked my way up into the Varsity 7 and was part of the state championship team for our class and got to compete in the state open and in New Englands as a freshman - it was very exciting. Then Covid stopped my freshman indoor season before the championship races and there was no outdoor season at all that year. My sophomore year was still affected by Covid and there were no big meets, nothing out of state, and after we won the conference championship there were no other championship races. Things started to open up during the winter season of my sophomore year and I played club soccer while also running for my high school indoor and outdoor track teams; that was challenging because it was two high-level, very competitive teams but I made it work and we won a conference championship in outdoor track for the first time I think in 16 years. My junior year I decided to play varsity soccer for my high school and won our conference and went undefeated to the state semi-final which we lost on penalty kicks. For the winter and spring I decided to play with my soccer club for the last year I could and we won the state cup and our New England conference. Now I have decided to run full-time and I am excited to help my cross-country and track teams create opportunities to run in as many championship races as possible, so far we've won our state's class championship in XC and we're working on our next Indoor championship now.
