Hello Coaches!
My name is Mitchell Gonzalez and I am currently a senior in high school hoping to compete at the collegiate level. I started running for my schools' cross country team in 7th grade. But during junior year, I also ran track and field for G. Holmes Braddock. My event in track is the 800m race. But I have dabbled in other events such as the 100m, 200m, 400m, 1500m, 3200m and 800m relay. I plan to break PRs in both cross and track this senior year. So far during my cross season I have gone from a 19 minute runner to a 17 minute runner and I'm hoping I can break 16 by the end of the season (for the 5K). For my track season I want to break 2 minutes for the 800m race and maybe break 54 in the 400m. My coach for track would say I'm a work horse which I'm assuming means I work hard. Which is very true, when I have a goal in mind I work my butt off to get it. You may view all my stats by visiting https://fl.milesplit.com/ and searching by my name.
Academically, I would say I am fortunate to be in a college preparatory school that offers high level courses to boost my GPA level. For instance they offer early admissions which I am currently enrolled in. Early admission is basically taking college classes to earn your AA degree early. I am aware most colleges will not take the college credit I currently have due to transfers, however I am completely fine with that because ultimately I am doing it for the GPA boost and the experience in understanding the difficulty and rigor of college level courses.
