Personal Statement
I tore my ACL in basketball Feb. 18, 2019 and I had surgery Mar. 14, 2019. I was released to run Aug. 21, 2019 and fully released on Jan. 22, 2019. Sadly I missed my Sophomore track season due to the knee surgery and wasn't 100% in my Junior XC season. Now I have to miss my Junior track season due to COVID-19 virus. I am looking forward to a Senior year with no interruptions!
My collegiate running goals and aspirations are to become the best runner I can be, to be involved in a successful program, and win. I'm a good candidate because I don't have to be the best runner on the team. I understand that each person on a teams job is unique, and that's what makes winning as a team so special; when you go out with your team and you all execute the race plan and win. I understand as an incoming freshman that the distance and training will change compared to high school, and that I have a lot to learn. I'm curious about running plus, I love it! I want to learn as much as I can about it. I'm also very competitive and I love the process of what it takes to get better. I learned so much about myself and hard work through my knee injury and recovery. I already had a solid work ethic before but when something you love is taken from you and you have to work to get it back, it sure changes your perspective. I cherish every mile and workout now! My work ethic is GREATER because of this experience and this separates me from others.
My college academic goals are to become an American History Teacher and coach Track/XC or basketball. Past college I would aspire to coach at the college level and be a professional runner.
