Track and field have been part of my life since middle school but it wasn't until my freshman year that throwing became a passion for me. I have been blessed along the way with some incredible mentors and coaches. Last year I found my club team and since have added javelin to my events. Club track has given me the opportunity to travel across the area competing against athletes from all across the country. After watching the decathlon at last year's and this year's Nationals, I have decided to pursue it as a goal for the 2024 Nationals. I'm also looking forward to a record breaking Senior Year. I focus on technique, technique, technique...all the rest will fall into place with good technique. My profile with USATF videos and records can be found at Athletic.net under JacobCardwell3
On a personal level, I love fishing, boating, hiking and all manner of outdoors activities. I'm also very active in my church and serve on the Influence Team for youth. This year I was selected as a model for Soultog Senior Photography and that has been a complete blast. I'm blessed to meet students from all over the area and represent a great company. If I'm not at school or training, I am usually working at Marco's Pizza where I am a shift supervisor. It's a great way to meet people and earn money at the same time.
