Samantha Hyde '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Samantha Hyde and I attend Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix, Arizona. I also play for AZ Hotshots Gold- Delsante/Carroll 18U where I primarily play catcher and also play short stop and 2nd base and I will graduate in 2026.  I am constantly striving to be better and do better.  

My life goal and I guess you can call it a dream is to play softball at the next level in college while I'm pursuing a degree in Business or Sports Marketing.  Softball is not only teaching me how to be an elite student athlete, but it's also molding me into a person who handles successes and failures with grace, grit and resilience.  Outside of softball, I thoroughly enjoy volunteering at Valley Youth as a Youth Leader at the Phoenix Baptist Church and started the Pickleball Club at Sunnyslope as well.  These life skills combined with my competitive nature only helps me to constantly grow as an elite student athlete and human.

I am a good candidate for college softball because I have been committed to this sport since Kinder when I was on my first team.  I have also been committed to bettering myself with this sport through my days of playing school and traveling club ball at a competitive level.  I thrive under pressure and also am willing to sacrifice my own personal success for the betterment of the team in situational play.  Being a catcher, I'm the commander of the field and am constantly pumping up my pitchers and infield, we succeed together!  I appreciate my failures in this sport with a 30% likelihood of success and work everyday to fine tune my game.
