My parents and coaches are the main people who have influenced who I am. They have pushed me when I needed help and helped me become an well rounded player both on the field and off the field. I became interested in sports around the age of five and have been playing ever since. At first I was no good, but I improved and in time I started playing with girls who where two years older than me. This was a great experience because it taught me how to step up and play at a higher level.
I have learned that I can be a phenomenal player, as my coaches say, and a excellent worker, as my teachers say. They have also said I have the willingness to reinforce my strengths and improve on my weaknesses. My academic goals for high school is to graduate with AP classes with a 4.0 or higher. Once I reach college, I want to be taking classes to help fulfill my dreams of becoming an aerospace engineer. An obstacle I have had to over come is improving my skills so that I can earn a spot at the field with girls older than myself. Off the field I am a team mate that will put my personal feelings aside for the benefit of my team. I have had to balance my work on my academics as well as multiple teams and sports.
One of the unique things about me is that I can play everywhere on the field, depending on where I am needed most at the time. Although 1st base is my main position, I am willing to play where my team needs me. For example, this summer I played shortstop, third base, and all outfield positions. I am usually placed at the number 4, 3, and 5 spot in the batting line-up. My coaches say that base running is my biggest strength. I know when the right time to steal a base is and I know how to slide and dive. I have proven that I can slide under tags when needed as well. I also know when I need to have a sacrifice bunt to advance another runner. I want to play at the college level because I know there is always something to improve on and more ways to improve my game skills.
