CaLee Calkum '26 Recruiting Profile

My earliest memories, and as long as I can remember, I grew up at Rockies Stadium watching every Rockies ball game I got a chance with either my parents or grandparents.  When I turned six I begged my Dad to let me play ball.  I started playing baseball for Coach Tim Kelly's team and went on to play with them for the next 4 years.  At the age of seven I was playing both baseball and softball, I just couldn't get enough of it!  

My dream has always been to play ball and I really enjoy the teamwork with others. I love to help teach new teammates to achieve skills they didn't even know they had.  My world changed when I was 14, my Dad unexpectedly passed away in his sleep.  He was such an inspiration to me. He encouraged me and even helped coach me in the game.  He was assistant coach for several of my years growing up and we shared such a special bond of the game.  Now that he is gone, I am truly inspired to push myself to achieve greatness in securing a spot to play ball as long as I can, and hopefully for a D1 Team on the East Coast.  My Mother will be moving back to her home roots on the East Coast and I wish to be able to be close enough to have her come watch every game she can and make both her and my Dad proud.
