Hello, my name is Amanda Kiman and I am in my Junior year at Shelton High School, in Shelton, CT. I am looking for a school that can offer both an excellent academic and athletic program.
I have grown up in an athletic family and have been playing softball for over 8 years. I started playing in Little League and that is where my love for the game began. Since then, it has only gotten so much stronger. When I was 12, I moved onto playing at the next level in travel softball programs.
I play Center Field primarily, but I can easily adapt to any of the 2 other outfield positions, as well as, the middle infield. I believe that my coaches can refer to me as a utility player because I can be successful in more than just one position. I start in centerfield for both my high school team and my travel team, CT Bullets.
I earned the starting position in Center Field on the Varsity team during my Freshman year. I was hoping to for my Sophomore year too, but the season was canceled due to the pandemic. During this tough time, I was able to put in a lot of extra work. After our season was officially canceled, I went out to the middle school field four to five times a week. I had my dad hit me some fly balls in the outfield, along with infield groundballs. I took this extra time as a way to improve on my weaknesses in hopes of coming back the next season ready to go.
I’m looking for a challenging school both athletically and academically. I get along with all of my teammates and want to keep them motivated and focused on the field. Thank you for viewing my profile!
