My name is Finley Turner. I am a catcher from Arlington, Virginia. I attend The Edmund Burke School in Washington D.C. and am part of the class of 2023. I am on my school's varsity softball team and have been playing since I was in first grade. I started catching in 4th grade. I consistently have a busy schedule because along with school, softball practices, and games, I participate in multiple clinics every year. I also work with a private coach. I stay competitive by working on my skills all year round. Spring through the fall, I am on at least one team, and during any off-season time, I am working with a coach in order to continuously improve my abilities. I am lucky to have access to a rec league filled with people just as passionate about the sport as I am, this creates a great sense of community and friendship that keeps me coming back to the sports season after season. My love of the game has led me to start umpiring youth softball games. It gives me a new perspective of the game and demonstrates my leadership abilities both as a player and as a person. Outside of softball, I love special effects makeup, theatre, biology, and history.
