My name is Kaylee Cline; I am a sophomore at St. Augustine High School located in St. Augustine FL. I plan to go to college and pursue my dreams of playing softball and majoring in Veterinary Medicine. This statement is to talk about my drive and passion I have for playing softball at the next level. Softball has added so much character to me that has stuck with me since I first stepped on the field almost 10 years ago. The character of sportsmanship, drive, challenging yourself, never giving up, and striving to be your best always. There were many times when I thought to myself, "softball isn't for me, I should just give up." But then I remembered how much I loved the sport, the amount of time and dedication I put in to get better, and how upset with myself I would be if I quit. Playing at the next level is probably most girls dream, but one thing I learned is you need the drive, and the heart to get there, Softball is not an easy sport and that's what pushes me to get better, knowing not everyone has the same abilities and potential that you do, so become the best you can and always put 110% effort into everything on and off the field. Softball has brought the coaches, and team-mates that I will forever look up to. My goal is to make it to the college level, I am not concerned of the division level; I just want to be on the field with a team. I will do whatever it takes to become the best softball player I can be. Academics are one of if not the most essential part of college. Throughout all of my school years I have always held myself to be in challenging classes, because I believe the only way to get better is by challenge and pushing yourself to get where you want to be in life. I plan on taking aice and honors classes throughout the rest of highschool and challenging myself to get the grades I know I can achieve. My mindset is to attend a college where I can challenge myself in both academics, and softball while encouraging others around me to do the same. With all this said I aspire to become a successful student, athlete, role model to everyone around, making my family, coaches, and team-mates proud.
