Hello, my name is Grace Batcheller and I’m just going into my junior year at Highland High School in Riverside, IA. Although I’m from a small school and our softball field is truly in the middle of some cornfields, I take my pitching very seriously and have been working at it since I was nine years old. I have had two exceptional pitching coaches throughout my time and my current pitching coach was a Division I All-American pitcher. We have just entered the off-season, yet I am continuing to take lessons twice a week and doing my assigned pitching workouts an additional three nights per week. In addition to a fastball, I currently throw four other pitches with a variety of speeds and movements.
My goal is to find a college that suits my needs academically, as well as athletically. My preference is to pitch at a high level in college and I have the desire, the work ethic, and the ability to bring that to reality. It is equally important to me to find the right team with good teammates who share my desire to compete at a high level and enjoy the comradery. My current pitching coach feels I have the necessary attributes to make this dream come true.
Thank you for taking the time to read my statement and I look forward to hearing from you!
