Personal Statement

My name is Ada Boysen, and my college goal is to attend a school to play softball and receive a quality education. Being raised in a rural agricultural community and working with livestock animals for 4-H and FFA instilled a good work ethic when I was very young. A valuable asset I bring to the team is that I am versatile and have great energy in the dugout. I am 5’4, and many people underestimate my athletic ability and speed. I prefer to be on the mound, but I’m quick on the field anywhere I play. As a freshman, I qualified for state track in three events and medaled in two. Pool A was won by the ‘06 Mudd Dawgs with a record of 3-0, outscoring their opponents 26-10. The Dawgs were led by OF/RHP Ada Boysen (2024, Wapello, Iowa), who collected six hits, with four being bombs, knocking in eight runs and scoring four. Boysen, hitting from the right side, starts with a balanced athletic stance, getting a nice weight transfer to the back side. During launch she uses every ounce of her 5-foot-4 frame to generate the bat speed she displays. In the circle, Boysen pitched four scoreless innings, striking out eight while sitting at 54 mph, with top velocity of 57 mph. (Perfect Game Scout)

Earned All Tournament Team (Pitcher). Ada Boysen (2024, Wapello, Iowa) was outstanding for the SE Iowa All-Stars 16U Gold-Black club. She threw 14 workman-like innings and didn’t allow a run. She punched out 20 and completely shut down opponent’s offenses. The 5-foot-4 strike thrower works with great pace and a consistent arm action that certainly should have college coaches calling soon. Earned - All Tournament Team (Batting) All Tournament Team (Pitching) SE IA All-Stars Gold-Black 16U A One of the tournament’s most dominant pitchers was Southeast Iowa All-Star Gold-Black right-hander Ada Boysen (2024 Wapello, Iowa), The Wapello Senior HS sophomore was the picture of cool, calm, dominance. She threw nine innings during the tourney and struck out an impressive 17 batters. She didn’t allow an earned run. Big future in the circle for this poised, highly competitive pitcher.
