My name is Lena Ramsey, a 2025 graduate from Kapaun Mount Carmel High School in Wichita, Kansas. I am a 5’4 middle infielder. Softball has been a major part of my life since I was little. Softball has helped shaped me into the person I am today.
Ever since I was little, I have wanted to play at the next level. I have dreamt on being on that field with others cheering you on and looking up to you as a role model. I have had many coaches that have come into my life that I look up to that share the same love of the game just like I have. Softball has taught me life lessons too. For example, never giving up and always learning from your mistakes. That makes you a better person all around. I feel like I push myself to get better and work harder to become better, and it shows by the way I play the game.
During my freshman and sophomore years in high school, I have been a starter for varsity and have received Honorable Mention both years.
I am coachable, a team player, get along with others, and will always give my best effort. I am very determined. My philosophy on work ethic is to work every day. Technique is key to all the other successes with softball. I have a strong fundamental foundation that has continued to grow to in making me a better player.
I still want to be involved in the game of sports after I graduate from high school and college. That is why for my junior year at Kapaun Mount Carmel, I have been accepted into the Sports Medicine program. I will be taking classes that are geared towards a career in Sports Medicine. I want to help people take care of their body, prevent injuries from happening and helping them recover if they are injured.
