Kalea Wagener '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Kalea Wagener, my teammates call me KJ.   I want, no need to play softball at collegiate level. I am a different person when I have my glove on my hand. Standing at bat with my mind on the ball keeps me alive. I have had many opportunities for softball including All-American games, college showcases, and camps. Currently, I play travel with Kentucky Intense Salute 18u.  I am a 1st and 3rd base person and tend to fill in as needed, even pitcher.  

I have maintained my GPA at 3.0 even with Covid and there is still time to raise it. I have taken several college courses to include Spanish 1 &2, Intro to Nutrition. 

I'm coachable, determined, and I love the game. I will take instructions to help me improve. I think what makes me different from other recruits is my ability to adapt to a new team. I have subbed for other teams and played as I was part of their team. 

I know my drive for softball, my work ethic, and my ability to make friends and teammates would offer your program a player, who plays 110% every day.

A question recently asked on a questionnaire: "Why do you play softball?"  I play for the bonds that are created between the players and coaches. Also I play for the entertainment it provides for me.
