Personal Statement

I’ve had a bat in my hand since I was 3 in the backyard with my dad, started t-ball/baseball when I was 5, switched to softball in 5th grade and as I’ve grown so has my love for the game of softball and my desire to play at the collegiate level. I know playing college athletics is the chance of a lifetime and am committed to putting in the work to achieve my dream.

I work hard in practice and I am coachable. When my coaches tell me what I could do to fix something, I take their advice and put in the work to use what they told me to make my game better. I am in a speed and strength program every summer to help continue to improve my athleticism. I have begun attending camps to learn from other coaches and work on anything I can to make me better. I also continue to work on my game with my dad outside of school and summer ball.

I am a good team leader and try to lead by example. I am good at pushing my team through the mistakes that we make and move on to the next play. I love to encourage the pitcher in all sorts of ways, sometimes making them laugh to keep them going or help them remember to take their time and breathe. When there is a play in the field I will talk to my teammates to help them know where to go and encourage them. I love being part of a team and love every single one of my teammates and am very close with all of them, we are all best friends. We work hard to make each other better, we push each other every day in practice to make the games go better for us. Whenever I make a play, they cheer me on and make me feel so good about myself and whenever they make a play I make sure to cheer them on just as loud as they do to me.

I want to attend a college that will push me to be my best both on and off the field. I’m open to all options and just want to find a college that is the right fit for me as an athlete, a student and a person, at the highest level of competition possible.
