Personal Statement

My goal is to keep doing what I love. Playing softball is something I love to do, and I've been doing it since I was seven years old. I have fully dedicated myself to it. I don't know what makes me different from others, but what I do know is what softball has taught me and what I will do to continue playing. Softball has taught me to take things seriously and given me self-discipline. It has also taught me an immense desire to succeed, and resilience. I am at my best when I play this sport and I will work day and night, anytime, anywhere, to push myself to the next level.

2020 True Grit- Ava Melinn This player has truly mastered their position. All of the great plays made by our infielders cannot be completed without strength on both ends. The ability for this player to have such a wide catch radius at first base gives our infielders, pitchers and catchers the ability to take more chances. 90 total chances, this player only surrendered 2 errors on the entire season. One thing that this statistic doesn't outline is, how many bad throws she saved, and there were quite a few. She absolutely excels at first base; she routinely makes high-level stretches and catches and makes them her norm. There are many times that people don't necessarily realize just how good she is at her position because of her constant next-level plays that are basically her norm. This player always gives 100% at her position, she has truly mastered it, she is scrappy and tough, and without her, our defense would crumble. 2020 Outstanding Athletism Award This is given for outstanding athletism, stamina, and flexibility to better her game. She has put in countless hours perfecting her craft, and it does not go noticed. In addition to her defensive strengths, this player is one of the smartest and most agile baserunners. Combining her true athletism with her next-level softball IQ, she is a force at her positions.
