Personal Statement
I started playing softball when I was 8 years old and I have loved the sport since then. Playing softball has taught me about discipline, hard work and dedication and what it means to be part of a team. Softball has turned me into a more confident and determined young woman and has provided the focus I’ve needed to succeed academically. When I put on my catcher’s gear and step on the softball field I turn into a leader; one that is not afraid to hold the team accountable and demand a full effort in every game.
In college I’d like to major in Sports Medicine or a related field. I feel that this would allow me to work closely with student athletes after graduation, to stay close to the sport after I can no longer play it competitively. In addition, I’d like to be involved with coaching to share my love of the game with young players. I believe that my love for the game, dedication and determination will prove to be an asset to your team.
