Personal Statement
Dear Coach,
For many years now, I have wanted to play softball in college. Everything that has happened to me, on and off the field, has helped me in this decision. In the classroom and on the field, I have manage to maintain good grades and good study habits. Being a captain on my club team for the 4th year, has made me a leader. I keep the girls' energy up and keep good vibes in the dugout and on the field. Ever since I was a young girl, my dream was to have a chance to play softball in college, and my dream is finally coming true.
Softball wise, I am a right handed pitcher. I love being the leader of the team and having the game in my hands. I started pitching lessons when I was 7 years old. It was the right decision and made me the player I am today. As a pitcher and hitter, I analyze the batter's swings to know where to pitch the ball. If they are ahead, I know to bust them with the change up. Meanwhile, if they are behind on the ball, I can throw a screwball to bust the batter inside. Offensively, having a pitchers mindset, I can almost infer what pitches are being thrown to me. I accept and adjust to any changes or comments made by my coaches, teammates and parents.
Overall, I am planning to attend a college or university that is strong in academics and in softball. I am looking for a school that I can play softball as a freshman. I would like to develop into an all-around student-athlete. I am hoping to be wearing a jersey, in 4 years, with pride, representing my school.
