Personal Statement
I'm heading into my Junior year. My goals for college haven't really solidified yet past wanting to go to a place I love and play with teammates and coaches that are committed to getting the best out of each other. I love writing and acting and I'd like to continue to my education in those studies.
I've always been something of a social "ambivert" and it has led to me being underestimated by quite a few people. I enjoy that challenge - especially when I prove to them that they made a mistake. I've used past experiences to become stronger mentally and I'm continuing to find my voice. I feel these experiences have helped me become the person and the pitcher that I am proud to be. No matter what comes, I stay positive. I've only been pitching since 6th grade but I love it. It's a big part of who I am and who I want to be. Being with the Central Jersey Fillies and placing 4th out of 78 teams at the 2021 USSSA Nationals in Ocean City, MD was the most amazing experience so far. Meeting people from all over the country and getting the chance to talk to them and just hang out after games gave me memories I will never forget.
I'm a Junior at a private school called Newark Academy which is routinely in the top 25 academic schools in the nation. I plan to make the most of my time here. I am active in the drama department and I was captain of the JV Volleyball team for two years as well. This past summer, I got a job as an assistant coach of the Westfield U10-A team as a pitching coach. I really wanted to give back to the program where I got my start and I think I learned more from these girls than I taught. I can't wait to do it again next year!
