Personal Statement

Hello Coaches! My name is Angelina M. Fucci and I am in the class of 2022. I am from Parsippany, New Jersey and I attend Parsippany High School. I am an open-minded player looking to play at the next level of softball. My aspiration is to go forward into softball, and making sure I get the highest education I can, and able to go forward with my career, which is majoring in Health Sciences. When I was younger and began playing softball, I knew that I was going to go forward into this sport, and had a high passion for softball. Softball is a sport that I will never stop loving, and whenever I take a step onto a softball field, I make sure that every play I make on the field, has a purpose behind it. When I am looking into schools, I am interested in a school that is able to push me to my highest potential and stimulates my interests socially. I am interested in a school that has a competitive athletic program and is always pushing me to the top of success every second of the day. My passion for softball is very high, and I would love to spread my passion for softball in college. For softball, I am currently competing at a competitive high school and perform at excessive rates. Softball is the sport that I put in 110%, and work my hardest.

When I am playing softball, I am a leader to my teammates. I am flexible with other players and very fast with my reactions. I am also very dynamic and play multiple positions as well. I have a very high advantage of being a quick learner, and bringing my full abilities and talent to the team! My current positions for softball are currently the outfield, and my secondary position is second base. I have a strong bat up at the plate, followed up with a time of 2.86 from home to first.

When I step onto the softball field, I make sure that my team is put forward before myself so as a whole, we are able to succeed. Recently, I have played in many softball showcases such as Team NJ, TNT Showcase, Clearwater Beach Showcase in Florida, D9 in Orlando, Colorado Firecracker, and Atlanta Legacy with my team, NJ Inferno 18U Gold. When I am playing on the field with the words "Inferno" on my chest, I want to make sure that I am selling myself successfully, and being the best player on that field.  I have received many awards for achieving honor roll for the whole year, being inducted into the Italian National Honors Society as a sophomore, earning over 100 service hours, and keeping a high GPA while playing at a high competitive level for softball. As a student-athlete, I test my limits every single second of the day on and off the field and push myself to the top of the mountain for success and I NEVER stop working.

  • The camp took place indoors. There were nine to ten stations with each station focusing on one important part of infield work. Each station lasted ten minutes. Examples of stations were working on backhands, forehands, faster transfers, diving, drop step and having a faster reaction time when fielding a ball. The camp lasted two hours.
  • Camp/Event
  • Lafayette College Elite Combine
  • 9/09/18 to 9/09/18
  • The Lafayette College Elite Combine was mainly for the coaches to get to know the players individually and see how we can perform on the field. First, the camp was split up into ten different stations with front toss and different variations of drills. Next, an infield and outfield session was covered and then we were tested on our speed towards the end.
  • Camp/Event
  • Marist College Softball Camp
  • 9/08/18 to 9/08/18
  • The camp was split up between pitching, catching, infield and outfield. First, we were evaluated on our running from home to first, then home to second. After running, each group was split between live hitting, tee work, and soft toss. After hitting, infielders work on infield work and outfielders worked on pop flys, line drive hits, throws from right field to third and right field to home. Lastly, a ten-inning game was placed for the rest of the camp and all the players were able to be evaluated by both college players and coaches. At the end of the camp, there was a recruiting questionnaire and the camp was amazing and I had an extraordinary experience.
  • Camp/Event
  • Top Prospects Elite Fastpitch Combine
  • 11/18/17 to 11/19/17
  • Main focus was on how skilled you are at certain positions, and how you can play defensively. Running was timed from home to first and from home to second. Offensively, we were able to hit from soft toss and off the tee, and rotate through different drills. At the end of the evaluations, a scrimmage was placed for the last two hours and teams were made up of the different girls at the showcase.
