Kate Schweitzer '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kate Schweitzer, and I’m a rising senior at Commack High School in Commack, NY. I plan to major in Exercise Science or Education and aspire to play softball at the collegiate level. 

I made varsity as an 8th grader and became a starter at my secondary position (shortstop) in 9th grade. I earned All-Division honors as a freshman and All-League as a sophomore.

After two years as our starting shortstop, I was named the team’s primary starting pitcher. During my junior season, I finished second on Long Island—and first in Suffolk County—with 247 strikeouts, and tied for second on Long Island (second in Suffolk) with 20 wins. Our team went 20–2, despite graduating five starters from the previous year. As a result of our strong season, I was awarded: NFCA All Region IX 2nd Team, All-State 1st Team, Newsday All Long Island 1st Team, All County, Suffolk County Class AAA Pitcher of the Year, Suffolk County League 3 Pitcher of the Year.

I work hard, compete until the final out, and always put my team first. I’m always pushing myself to get better—not just for me, but for the success of the whole team. I know I’ll bring a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a team-first mindset to whatever university and softball program I’m lucky enough to be part of.
